BitWorld Spooktober
Posted on October 4th, 2024
Today we launched Bitworld 1.1.3 which features the all new Halloween event!
Explore the abandoned church
In this event you will venture into a abandoned church which suddenly appeared south of Coburgh. You will soon find out this church holds countless secrets as a sinister story unfolds. Don’t be late now, because this event will only be here for a limited amount of time.
Of course this event also brings limited time cosmetics and emotes to celebrate the occasion, can you collect them all?
New systems
This update doesn’t offer much permanent content, but it does add some new exciting systems and changes which shake up the game, namely;
-Levers which can open and close gates on demand.
-The all new fear status effect which might make you to afraid to attack your target.
-Improved tiles and sprite visibility
Lore Journal
The biggest new system is the lore journal, you’ll be able to find lore notes scattered all around the event which will give extra context to the story. While this system is currently only available in the event map, we plan on rolling it out on a wide scale adding lore and stories abound to the world of Bits, the BitWorld if you may.
What now?
The next update will be the big 1.2, but this will take some time especially now that development of our new game has fully picked up steam. We don’t feel confident in mentioning a release date as of now, so instead we’ll say; it’s done when it’s done.
That’s it for now, we hope you have a blast exploring the new Halloween content.
BitWorld EX 1.1.2
Posted on May 31st, 2024
Bitworld 1.1.2 has been released and with it comes new maps, enemies, UI and much more!
EX bosses
One feature we’ve wanted to add since BitWorld’s beta is EX bosses, these bosses are post game variants of the seven main bosses you fight on your journey throughout BitWorld. To fight these bosses you’ll have to search for a piece of their past and use it to craft a special item which lets you enter a door located in the Keep. Currently Far A Woh and Gobtar are the only bosses with an ex variant, with more following suit in the coming updates.
You asked, we listened
Some of the most requested changes we’ve been hearing have been neglected for far too long, but we finally got around to changing them.
I’m specifically talking about Gockcan’s Island and the Rare wolf quest.
Gockcan’s Island is now finally a proper boss dungeon featuring a new map, new encounters and a longer runtime. The Rare wolf quest has also finally been removed and replaced with a new quest, instead of searching for a 1% golden wolf encounter you’ll now have to search for the gilded wolf’s grotto to fulfill a old man’s request.
Squeaky clean UI
As part of our attempt to make BitWorld more accessible we also updated the bank menu. By implementing a grid layout in which you can better search through your countless items. And of course it’s now also keyboard and controller navigable, something which is a more frequent sight these days. We are pretty close to making BitWorld 100% navigable with controller and keyboard and we hope to full support in the coming updates.
The future of BitWorld
As we close out this blogpost lets look ahead into the future. First off, this year won’t have the summer event, this is mainly because we’ve already used it twice, and we would rather spend the time we would use for upkeep to create more exciting content for you all.
The next update should be focused around a different event, other than that we will be adding some minor features and delving more into the BitWorld world and lore.
After this update we will start working on BitWorld 1.2, we previously mentioned that we started work on our second game, which is why the new updates haven’t been coming out as frequently as in BitWorld’s first year. This still remains true which is why we’ve decided to push back the 1.2 update to 2025. To make up for this, let me share some insider information.
The 1.1 update was focused all around crafting and adding secondary gameplay aside from combat. The 1.2 update will focus on combat, dungeons and teamwork. This update will also add battle background to battle which should give the combat in BitWorld some extra flair.
That’s all for now, we hope you have fun playing BitWorld 1.1.2
BitWorld 1.1 Crafting Update
Posted on October 20th, 2023
We have just released the first major BitWorld update, the crafting update!
Hop on the server and start crafting today!
A brief overview of the changes we made:
-new crafting system
-250+ new items and materials
-new rank system
-new dungeon
-new archer class
-map overhauls
and much, much more
A full changelog can be found on the Discord server.
Introducing The Archer
Posted on October 6th, 2023
It’s been quite some time hasn’t it?
We’ve been working tirelessly on BitWorld 1.1 (which is almost done now), so while we wait for the release of the ever so elusive update we wanted to share a new addition the to game
The first new class since our launch back in February!
The Archer
That’s right, the archer will be joining BitWorld in the next update.
The archer is a DPS class who uses arrows to fend off monsters, there are 25 different arrow types all doing different things, from stunning your enemy to having a higher crit chance, you name it, arrows have it.
Okay but how do you get arrows?
Well, since 1.1 is called the crafting update I think you know where this is going, you craft them!
Over the course of your playthrough you’ll unlock more arrow recipes with which you can make more arrows, this does mean that the archer is VERY resource intensive so you’ll have to seek out those juicy materials while journeying throughout the lands of BitWorld. The trade-off is a high and reliable damage output rivaling the strongest classes, it’s a very high risk high reward playstyle, one which will bring strategy and planning to every archers’s story.
BitWorld 1.1 is imminent
You’ll have to wait just a bit longer until you can get your hands on the new class and 1.1 as a whole. We had to change and add a lot more than we initially thought, but the work is almost done, after which only testing remains. We can’t wait to bring the new update into the hands of players (and out of ours, this is a cry for help) so we’ll keep you guys updated.
That’s it for now, see you in the next blog post.
BitWorld’s summer event / 1.1 announcement
Posted on July 11th, 2023
Summer 2023 event
Bitworld’s summer event is live right now!
The event will last until September 8th so be sure to check out Farfair island and get exclusive loot and cosmetics, we’ve also added a rainbow token like the launch event for those who want to be extra cool.
With this event we’ve also added a new system to the game.
Level scaling.
Thanks to level scaling everyone can enjoy BitWorld events no matter which level you are, everyone knows how boring it is to grind underleveled events so we hope this helps stave off the monotony of grinding events.
For the first time since BitWorld’s launch in February there won’t be a new update August 4th, reason being
BitWorld 1.1 The Crafting Update
That’s right, the first major BitWorld is coming!
As the title says, this update will be the crafting update, but you might ask yourself; “Will this update be big enough to justify skipping an update?” and my answer to that is yes, yes it is.
New Systems
With the crafting update we will introduce new systems into the game, these being:
-Mining
-Woodcutting
-Gathering
-Crafting
Instead of going through all of these systems one by one I’ll take you trough the process of making a silver staff.
First you’ll need to grab a pickaxe and equip it in the tool slot
After that you’ll need to find yourself some silver ore
Before crafting with these ores you’ll need to smelt them down into ingots first.
After your ingot are done smelting it’s finally time to make your staff, simply walk to your nearest anvil and start putting your product together.
We sadly can’t share anymore than this right now since we’re hard at work making this update the best it can be. Apparently adding over 250 new items into the game is a time consuming task, who would’ve guessed?
Closing Thoughts
We hope you’ll enjoy the summer event while it’s live, we even added some new event exclusive fishes, who doesn’t like fishing?
We’ll share more about 1.1 at a later date, but for new remember to shoot sharp and quiver in fear for the amount of content BitWorld 1.1 will show the class.
Fishy business
Posted on June 2nd, 2023
Fishing update
Yes you read that right, BitWorld has finally gotten its own fishing update.
Fun fact, in the original design sheets back when we started BitWorld fishing was one of the must have’s but things changed and BitWorld’s scope rapidly outgrew our expectations and fishing was shelved for the time being. Maybe one day we can post about the history of BitWorld’s development?
So you want to become a fisher? Well then, this is how you go about it.
First you’ll need to head to a new place called Olfish Harbor, this new place hosts a fishing shop and quest, when you’ve completed the quest you’ll be able to catch all kinds of fish.
How it all works
All around the world you’ll find fishing spots, you can detect these spots by the bubbling water
When standing in front of these spots with bait in hand simply press space to start fishing with your trusty fishing rod..
Oh right, we added a new tool slot, you can equip fishing rods in this slot, better fishing rods give you better stats.
A fishing rod alone is not enough however, you’ll also need to equip some bait in your materials panel to catch rare fish, without bait you’ll only be able to catch common fish.
After some time a fish will bite down and a minigame will start.
You’ll need to time hit the space bar at the correct time to actually land the fish, of course fishes have different stats like how fast the bar moves, the size of the green area and the amount of correct hits you’ll need. This is where the fishing rod and bait stats come in handy.
After successfully catching a fish you’ll be presented by the type of fish and their weight, all fishes have a range of possible weights, can you catch the heaviest fish?
Of course we provided a place where you can look at your previous catches, the fishopedia.
The fishopedia functions like the bestiary, you’ll be able to see which how many fishes you’ve caught, a description and their record weight.
Fishing for more content
This update only contains fishing, adding an entire new system and over 30 fish within a 4 week timeframe isn’t exactly an easy task, but we are really happy with the update despite that.
Bitworld was missing something fun that doesn’t have to do with grinding away and fishing is the ultimate time killer (Big fishing minigame fan here).
The next update we’ll be rereleasing an upgraded version of last years summer event so look forward to the glorious return of Farfair Island, looking even further in the future we have BitWorld 1.1, this update will be big and add a new core gameplay mechanic to the game.
Let’s just say that that tool slot isn’t exclusively made for rods, and there is a reason we only added 1 type of bait, but that will have to wait for a future date.
World of Lies and bytes
Posted on May 5th, 2023
Hello there people of BitWorld, today we launch update 1.0.3, this update adds a few new features, some of which are highly anticipated.
Without further ado, let’s get into the new stuff
Is that a chest?
This update introduces a new monster, namely the fearsome mimic
These hideous creatures inhabit chests, from the outside they look exactly the same, but these monsters mean business. You’ll have to fend them off before getting the chest reward.
There are around 20 of them scattered around the world as of now, not only will you get the treasure tucked away in the chest, you’ll also get a mimic tooth, let’s just say that while inconspicuous as of now they may prove to be pretty useful in the future, but that will have to wait until a later.
The Boss is ready for trouble
This update adds Love Letter part 3, in this quest you’ll have to venture into the beasts den to find Oliver, in here you will find The Boss. This ruthless man doesn’t play games so don’t be surprised when he uses his assets to make you rue the day you challenged him.
Love letter is far from finished, so be sure to keep helping Oliver and Marla reunite in the updates to come
More magical changes
Finally we have some small changes which make a huge difference, namely the spell resetter.
This magical goblin will reset your chosen spells for a price, with this you can now finally mix and match spells. No longer will you have to be melancholic about picking the wrong spell, yes the future is now!
While there are some more smaller changes, I won’t go over them here, you’ll have to read the changelog to find out about them.
Closing thoughts
The weather is getting better, so be sure to go outside and enjoy nature once in a while. While we get that playing BitWorld is fun, taking breaks is important, don’t go around playing the game for 60 hours in a row. Instead you can take a walk, have a picnic or go fishing, maybe you’ll catch a red carp or a bass. You never know for sure right?
That is all for this update, we hope you will keep enjoying BitWorld.
BitWorld 1.0.2
Posted on April 10th, 2023
This update we focused on upgrading the dusty and musty quest and bestiary UI in BitWorld together with some smaller updates to existing features like shops and drops. Lets take a closer look at the UI’s after their glowups
UI Mania
The new and improved quest menu is now split up into 2 parts the searcher and information section.
In the searcher you will find that the quests are now displayed in a list with color coded text to signify the current quest state.
Green = Available
Yellow = Active
Red = Not started
Dark Red = Not available
Along with these colors, the exclamation mark next to the quest name shows you if the quest is a main or side quest.
On the right we have the filter in which you can toggle the visibility of the quests in the list, you can also search for a quest manually with the included search bar.
In the information screen you can see the status of the quest along with the requirements for starting it, handy right?
Next up is the bestiary
The bestiary is also split up in the same sections, a searcher and an information page.
The searcher functions the same way the quest one, the difference being that the bestiary shows you a cute picture of the monster you’ve currently selected instead of all that boring quest info.
The information sections shows you some of the monsters more private details like their drops, kills, weaknesses and stat spread. These sections get filled in with kill milestones so be sure to rough up those monsters to know more about them!
Other busywork
As stated earlier the rest of the update revolves around filling the game out, a big part of this was giving the shops in the game some more supplies to deliver round the globe and giving baddies more things to lose upon death. A total of 19 new equipment items were added so be sure to give them a whirl the next time you visit BitWorld!
The monk also got some changes, we got a ton of feedback (which we are grateful for) about the class so we took them under the loop and changed up some things to make the monk feel more, well, monk like. If only the other classes got as much love as the monk did, maybe someday.
That’s all, we hope you will continue to enjoy BitWorld with us.
BitWorld 4.1.A
Posted on April 1st, 2023
Hello there players of BitWorld, today we bring you an exciting announcement.
We have had a great launch month and the next update is right around the corner so we’d like to tell you all what kind of new features will be added
Classes
As you all know BitWorld currently has 5 classes, Warrior, Wizard, Monk, Assassin, Warlock, over this past month we’ve realized that these classes don’t invoke the kind of wonder that we wanted the players to experience which is why we have decided that we will remove every class except for the monk. We know that players only play monk so why bother with the rest, instead we have made 2 new classes.
Introducing:
The monk
The monk
We hope that these 2 new classes together with the existing monk can bring players the classes they want and need.
Areas
We will also be adding a new area to BitWorld called the void, in this area players can expect to fight countless monsters of the night like the voidling and the voidspawn. This area will be the final one that players visit on their journey and it has an unique gimmick.
The void has no visuals, you’re in the dark after all.
Let’s introduce some of the new landmarks of the void shall we?
This is the central hub in the void, the bazaar, a place where many different species meet to have fun and trade their goods. You will be tasked with getting the 5 triangles from each major figure in the void in order to open the chest of nothingness. This is a difficult task due to the soul bandits looking to steal the triangles from you, so better watch out!
This is the final castle, known as furfur palace, this place is filled with the most grueling enemies we have made so far, like the bound soulhunter
This monster can instakill you if you don’t have your darkness helmet on so be careful!
Other changes
This update also brings along a slew of other changes, namely:

-changed monk ki recharge 25>200

-changed crazy bill drink mechanic, crazy bill now dies if he drinks more than 3 times in a battle

SlimeWorld Online
Posted on March 11th, 2023
The first few weeks of BitWorld
Hey there everyone, today’s blog post will be a recap of the first few weeks of BitWorld and the new content in the first update which launched yesterday March 10th.
First of all Glenn and I want to thank every single one of you who has played BitWorld up to this point, we’re astonished at how many of you not only tried BitWorld but also played it extensively, some people have played BitWorld for over 30 hours which is just mind boggling to us, so once again, thanks for playing BitWorld and suggesting changes, reporting bugs and voicing your wants it means the world to us.
Slime Island is here
As previously teased BitWorld got a new mini area with this update, slime island.
To access this island you have to speak with a familiar face in the salty mug and set out on a quest of riches on the mysterious slime island.
This island consists of 4 distinct floors with their own environments, enemies and items. Don’t think this will be a quick journey though, the enemies levels span from lvl 20 to lvl 80 so you’ll have to come back a few times in order to fully explore this vast new area. Here are some sneak peaks of the floors you’ll explore.
Fungal Hideaway
Steep Cliff
Flooded Craig
Crystal Cavern
Together with slime island we have also added some smaller stuff into the game like a new desert quest, new items, balancing and visual clarity.
Cool but what’s next?
The next couple of updates will be focused on improvement instead of expansion so you can expect multiple smaller features and updates to existing content. We want to make sure the players experience is consistent while playing which is something that hasn’t been fully realized yet. We’ll reveal more of the upcoming changes at a later date so be sure to stick around to find out.
